Our Experience

Eleven prepubescent children with melanoma that metastasized constitute our series. The ages of these children ranged from one through 10 years (mean = 5.2 years) [Table 2]. Of the eleven children, four were femaleand seven male. The anatomic site of the melanomas are presented in Table 2. Two melanomas occurred on the head and neck, oneon the face, and one on the neck. Two melanomas were situated on the trunk; most were positioned on the extremities, seven of them in toto of which five were on a leg (two on the thigh, one on the knee, one on the leg, and one on the foot). Two melanomas developed on an arm.
