Summary
This novel dermatoscopic classification of blood vessels facilitates the description of vascular patterns in unpigmented and lightly pigmented skin lesions. It is applicable to every type of lesion in which vascular morphology is apparent. The logical and straightforward configuration of this classification makes it easy to memorize and easy to apply.
Harald Kittler and Elisabeth Riedl are Professors at the Department of Dermatology, Division of General Dermatology, Medical University of Vienna, Austria; Cliff Rosendahl is from the School of Medicine at The University of Queensland, Australia; and Alan Cameron is in private practice at Shailer Park Medical Centre, Queensland, Australia.
