EROSION:
Loss of part or all of the epidermis (example: burn).

ULCER:
Loss of the entire epidermis and at least some of the dermis (example: ecthyma).

DELL:
A slight depression or dimple less than 1.0 cm in diameter (example: atrophic scar).

GULLY:
A deep depression, an exaggeration of a dell, greater than 1.0 cm in diameter (example: lupus profundus).
