There exists confusion concerning the fundamental definition, essential character, and relationships in regard to the designations follicular mucinosis, alopecia mucinosa, mycosis fungoides, and cutaneous T-cell lymphoma. In this work, we seek to illuminate the entire matter by setting forth our own observations pertinent to clinical, histopathological, and biological aspects and proposing a concept that synthesizes all that is known about the subject in a way that enlightens.
