The following is a summary of Ardor Scribendi online store policies:

Security

The entire checkout process is secured by Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. At no point will customers transmit personal or financial information over a non-secure connection.

Payment

Payment at the online store is by credit card only. Currently, the store can process the following credit card types:

  • American Express
  • Mastercard
  • Visa
  • Discover

Privacy

Ardor Scribendi collects personal and financial information for order fulfillment purposes only. The information collected is not shared with any third parties.

Shipping

Customers can choose from the following shipping methods:

  • Domestic (including Canada, Mexico) Standard: UPS Standard Ground
  • Domestic (including Canada, Mexico) Rush: UPS 2nd Day Air
  • International Standard: Air Parcel Post
  • International Rush: Priority International

The rates are calculated using the following shipping table:

Note that international orders are a range. International rates will not automatically be added to customer totals by the online store. They will be determined and billed when the order is shipped, on a case-by-case basis. In addition, customers from Hawaii and Alaska will have a $10 surcharge added to the domestic rate.

Returns and Cancellations

Ardor Scribendi will take returns of books, video sets, journal issues, and CD-ROMs. Returns must be made within one month of date of receipt. Customer pays shipping charges on returns, unless product was shipped to customer in Ardor Scribendi's error. Derm101.com subscriptions cannot be cancelled within the first year of membership. If a subscriber is in some way unable to fulfill the one-year membership requirement but has received a free book from the special "Subscribe now and receive a free book" offer, the full cost of the book will be charged to the customer's credit card at the time of cancellation. All physical product returns should be sent to the Ardor Scribendi warehouse at this address:

When received, Ardor Scribendi will reimburse the customer for the full amount of physical return (minus shipping).

Volume Discounts

Ardor Scribendi offers a volume discount for orders with multiple items. For orders of two or three items, 10% is discounted from the pre-tax, pre-shipping total. For orders of four or more items, 15% is discounted from the pre-tax, pre-shipping total. Note that books packaged as sets (sold as one line item, but containing multiple books) are counted by the total number of items they contain. For example, the four-volume "Differential Diagnosis in Dermatopathology" set would qualify a customer for the 15% discount. Derm101.com memberships, journal issues, videos, and CD-ROMs are not included in volume discount calculations.
