Information We Collect

Your personal information will be processed by us in the United States.
Information you voluntarily provide us:
When you register to gain access to our Services, we receive the information you provide, including personal information (e.g., name and email address) and demographic information (e.g., organization name, profession, degree, area of specialty, medical school or training institution(s), year of graduation, and other optional information). We also receive information from you whenever you communicate directly with us, such as when you have requested customer service support.

Derm101 uses information collected and provided by you in order to tailor the features and optimize the performance and support of the Site, Apps, and Services for your use. Your personal information may be used to (1) administer your account; (2) satisfy your requests for products and services; (3) improve the quality of the Site, Apps, and Services; and (4) send you promotional/ marketing information, newsletters, content updates, offer or other information regarding opportunities and functionality that we think would be of particular interest to you (to opt-out of these emails, see the section, How you can control your information).

Third Party:
We will only disclose your personal information to third parties under these circumstances listed below. If you do not want us to use or disclose personal information collected about you in the ways identified in this Policy, you should not use the Site, Apps, or Services.

1. Compliance with law and law enforcement: (1) To comply with valid legal requirements; (2) To prevent physical harm or financial loss or in connection with an investigation of suspected or actual illegal activity.

Advertising Any advertisements that you see are customized based upon (1) the information you provide (e.g. area of specialty); (2) geographic location information which may be determined through your IP address, from your mobile device or other ways or (3) your visits on the Site or use of the Services. If you interact with any advertisement on the Site or Apps, we may share your information with a third party.
3. Aggregated, anonymous data: Non-identifying aggregate data may be provided to third parties (e.g., summary information regarding the usage of Derm101 by physicians of a specific specialty). Any third party that receives aggregated information is prohibited from attempting to identify individuals.
4. Support Services: We use service providers to perform specific functions on our behalf (such as sending emails, newsletters, or processing credit cards). These service providers agree or are contractually bound to maintain the confidentiality of your personal information and to use this information only for the purpose(s) for which it was intended.

How you can control your information

Manage personal information
You have a right to modify your personal information after your registration with Derm101. To make any changes to this information, go to “My Account” followed by “My Profile” and make the appropriate corrections.

If you no longer want to receive certain communications from us, you can follow “unsubscribe” instructions provided in promotional emails or newsletters you receive.

Use of Cookies
Cookies can be removed by following your internet browser’s directions under the help tab. However, please note that if you choose to disable cookies, you may not be able to take full advantage of our Site features. You may also choose to opt-out of cookies placed by third party vendors to limit behavioral advertising. However, you will still see advertisements, but the advertising may not be relevant to your interests.


Our Site, Apps, and Services are designed and intended for use by individuals 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18 years of age.

Changes to Privacy Policy

If we need to make any changes to this Privacy Policy the modified version will be posted on the Site with an updated Effective Date to reflect the date of the changes. By continuing to use our Site, Apps, and Services after we post any such changes, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of the revised and updated Privacy Policy.

We undertake reasonable security measures to protect against loss, misuse or unauthorized access, alteration or destruction of the information you provide on our Site. However, no security system is impenetrable. We cannot guarantee the security of our database, nor can we guarantee that the information you supply will not be intercepted while being transmitted to us over the internet.
